The Sopranos News and Events
September 13, 2017
With asadden heart, one of the nicest and most gracious member of the Sopranos casr, Frank Vincent has passed away. Always a gentleman, and total opposite of the many roles he protrayed during his long career. Beside playing the role of Phil Leotardo ppm The Sopranos, Mr. Vincent, also played prominate roles in "Casino", "Raging Bull" and "Goodfellas (1990) Remastered". Frank Vincent was also an author with the book “Guy’s Guide to being a Man’s Man”.For more information, Hollywood Reporter. To read the interview I did with Frank Vincent, click here.
I know, it's been a while, but I have been busy with stuff, and regretfully have neglected the site. Hope everyone enjoyed the recent solar eclipse. I did. I also made a second use of the box, Uncle Steve's organic pasta sauce I ordered on line, came in. I converted into a solar viewer! So besides the sauce being great, I'd say the box is pretty good. Mickey the traveling Chickie, thinks so also. But, "no sauce for him".... Don't forget to "like" Mickey's page on Facebook, and follow his travels! Uncle Steve's sauce has a page on Facbook, where you can keep up on the latest news and contests. Uncle Steve's sauce is certified organic and the recipe is based on Steve R. Schrippa's (Bobby Bacala) mother's recipe, which had the reputation of being some of the best sauce in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
Speaking of Steve, he has been recently spotted in Coney Island, working on the latest Woody Allen film, "Wonder Wheel". This film has been called a mini Soprano's reunion, since the film also features Tony Sirico (Paulie Walnuts) and Max Casella (Benny Fazio). Steve also has been working on the televison program, "Blue Bloods" in which the Brooklyn Daily Eagle interviewed him about his role.
This news, I am pretty excited about, and not because my second favorite Soprano is in (first being Steve Schrippa), Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) is starring in a new horror film entitled "Clinton Road" with Ice T (Law & Order SVU) !!! The synopsis of this independent,
I remember going to Clinton Road in West Milford, NJ as a teenager, and trust me, that road is really spooky!!! Hoping to be able to do a sighting when they film, I will definately feel safe on Clinton Road with those guys around.
Michael Imperioli (Christopher Moltisanti) is set to be part of the cast of the new film, "The Full Last Measure" starring beside Samuel L. Jackson, Peter Fonda, and Christopher Plummer.
The Miami Herald, recently interviewed Edie Falco (Carmela Soprano), in which she talks about her role on The Sopranos.
This new version, is so much better than the original, so if you haven't gotten your copy of the 3 DVD set "Sopranos Behind-The-Scenes ", for your Sopranos fix, get it! You will get an inside look at what was involved in filming an episode of The Sopranos. It is also available on ITunes split up into 3 programs there... SOPRANOS BEHIND-THE-SCENES Volume 1 of 2 SOPRANOS BEHIND-THE-SCENES Volume 2 of 2 SOPRANOS BEHIND-THE-SCENES Bonus Extras. Watching the DVD, reallyy brings back some great memories.
Sad news, my side kick, and partner in crime, when I was doing the sightings, Gramps, passed away after a brief illness. Besides being a huge fam of The Sopranos, Gramps was also a huge fan of Kevin Smith. Gramps had been an extra in several of Kevin Smiths films, and was featured as on of the priests, in the movie Dogma (Special Edition). Before I met Gramps, and we were emailing back and forth, he sent me the photo of him from the film, I was like, crap, this guy is a priest and I ain't no saint..... Gramps, really fit the role as a priest in that movie. Gramps was also an extra in "Jersey Girl". "Taking Chance", "Split Ends", and in Season 6 of The Sopranos "The Ride". I was also an extra in most of these films, with Gramps, someone had to keep him out of trouble..... Beside hanging out on the set of The Sopranos, we traveled to Europe and California. Memoriable time, Gramps had a wicked sense of humor. An example, Gramps and I somehow got lost in the high Sierras, in Yosemite National Park, when a short 5 minute walk turned into an hour. Gramps started calling out in the woods, "Bacala! Bacala! Come rescue us...." I swear he stayed up at night thinking of this stuff. Really miss him.
A reminder about tonight's Tribute show for John 'Cha Cha' Ciarcia (Albie Cianflore) !!!! Killer Joe and Vinny Pastore's Gangster Squad will be Rockin' the House at Cha Cha's In Bocca Al Lupo Restaurant, located at 113 Mulberry Street, in the heart of New York City's Little Italy. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Boy's & Girl's Town of Italy. The show commences at 7 pm. Come early and enjoy dinner! Try some of his home style wine!!!! The food is fantastic there!
If you miss out on seeing Vinnys (Vincent Pastore aka Big Pussy) band tonight, he and his Gangster Squad have some upcoming dates
Michael Imperioli (Christopher Moltisanti) has been cast as as the angel Uriel on the Fox network show, Lucifer, accoding to Yahoo News. Michael's restoration efforts with building made Architectural Digest AGAIN!!!!! Good work! Michael will also be in the premiere episode (Sept. 23, 2016) of "Blue Bloods".

A reminder about the 3 DVD set "Sopranos Behind-The-Scenes ", if you need a Sopranos fix, besides getting to see what I look like, you will get an inside look at what was involved in filming an episode of The Sopranos. It is also available on ITunes split up into 3 programs there... SOPRANOS BEHIND-THE-SCENES Volume 1 of 2 SOPRANOS BEHIND-THE-SCENES Volume 2 of 2 SOPRANOS BEHIND-THE-SCENES Bonus Extras.

Yes, I know its been a while, but been busy, not to be confused with my normal MO as dizzy. There are still some Sopranos related stuff going on, but as time goes one, it becomes more infrequent.
There is finally something new on the home video, that definately will interest fans. I recently got a hold of the shortly to be release 5 1/2 hour, 3 disc set titled "Sopranos Behind-The-Scenes ", produced by Jersey Productions. This is NOT to be confused with an earlier version, released several years ago. This new version, still features John Fiore (Gigi Cestone) as the narrator, but his female co host, from the original DVD, could be sleeping with the fishes, or got carried away while shopping for some new cement shoes, is only seen (and not really heard) in this version. Had I known that John had such provoking moves in the dance floor of the Bing, I would have had him dance on my kitchen table when he stopped by my house.
The description from Amazon reads;
Besides John's narration, various crew members describe in detail how they filmed various scenes, which i found really interesting. I saw many of these live filming scenes, but never really understood, what exactly they were doing and why. Now I understand. So, if you are tired of binge watching the same old episodes, definately pick up this new version, and get some get insider, insight into the filming of The Sopranos! It can be pre ordered (release date is June 28, 2016) on Amazon . It will be available on ITunes split up into 3 programs there... SOPRANOS BEHIND-THE-SCENES Volume 1 of 2 SOPRANOS BEHIND-THE-SCENES Volume 2 of 2 SOPRANOS BEHIND-THE-SCENES Bonus Extras

December 10, 2015
I know its been a while since I've updated but, its rough going on 5 vacations in one year. I know, someone has to do it. Now on a more somber note. We recently lost two cast members from The Sopranos. The first, was one, who was very dear to me and many other people. On November 21, 2015 John 'Cha Cha' Ciacia, fondly known as The Mayor of Little Italy, who played the character of Albie Cianflone, passed after a breif illness. Cha Cha owned a bustling resturaunt at 113 Mulberry Street, in New York City's Little Italy. He also had a line of imported Italian wines, Mama Cha Cha's wine, which was always a good choice, whether it be the Red or White variety.
On December 4, 2015, Robert Loggia, who played the charcter of Feech LaManna, died of complications from Alzheimer's disease. Besides his role on The Sopranos, Robert Loggia had parts in "Big"," Scarface (1983) ", "Prizzi's Honor " and "Officer And A Gentleman ". Television included "The Rockford Files ", (3 times in 3 different roles), "Columbo ", and the "The Six Million Dollar Man: ".
Steve Schirripa (Bobby Bacala) has been busy, I have no clue when he finds time to eat that fabulous line of gluten free, sugar free line of tomato sauces. On Saturday December 12th, at 1 p.m Steve will be at Rastelli Market Fresh, 710 Route 73 S, Marlton, New Jersey. for a Holiday celebration. Meet Steve Schirripa, and have a taste of Uncle Steve's tomato sauce. Free gifts for everyone. There will also be a "Nog Off" competition (starts at noon), pictures with Santa, and other free demos!
If you can't purchase his sauce at your local grocer, it can be bought on line. I was just looking over stuff on his site and I discovered the coolest gift you can buy your siblings. Are you a survivor of mom's wooden spoon? Do you have the shirt to prove it? Get yours today at www.unclestevesny.com. Perfect gift for the holidays. I especially liked the SCHIRRIPA-GRAM on the page , 2 jars of sauce, autographed wooden spoon. I even ordered a few for the relatives that I like COAL for the rest! You can follow Steve on Facebook, for more opportunities and get some of fantastic recipes for his sauce!
Another busy Soprano is Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) he formed a band, named The Gangster Squad, dedicated to good ol' rock and roll fun! Tomorrow night, Friday, December 11, 2015 at 8 pm they will be at the Wonder Bar, 1213 Ocean Ave Asbury Park, NJ. Performance with his Jersey Band, Tony 'Bocci' Amato, Tommy Buddha & friends, Opening for The Soul Cruisers. more dates include;
Tony Soprano's White Escalade sold for $120,000. That I was surprised about, considering the show hasnt been airing new episodes in a while (17 years since the first episode aired)
Tony Sirico (Paulie Walnuts) will be a guest on the show, "The Grinder".
September 13, 2014
I just came back from a Steve Schrippa event for his new line of italian speciality foods at Livoti's Old World Market in Englishtown, New Jersey. What a wonderful time my friend Ann and I had! Beside's seeing Steve, who graciously took photos with the crowd, and autographed wooden spoons, Livoti's took the event up a notch with table's set up where you could try some of the fantastic food the create. There was music, clowns and plenty of excitement in the air. The best part was the samples of Uncle Steve's sauces, which come in three different flavors, Arrabiata , Marinara and Tomato Basil. These sauces are also sugar and gluton free.
I bought a couple of cases of sauce (my family has been going absolutely nuts over the sauce), if it isn't available in your local market, you can purchase on the Uncle Steve's Italian Speciality Website, and they will ship it directly to your house \.
Steve has some upcoming events, where the sauce will be available for purchase.
Be sure to sign up to be on Steve's Italian Specialities mailing list to hear about more events, and join Uncle Steve's Italian Specialties on Facebook.
Maureen Van Zandt (Gabrielle Dante) will be directing Vincent Pastore's (Big Pussy) play "Wild Children". When I have more info about tickets, venue, etc. I will post it.

Steve Schirripa (Bacala) has been all over the place! I saw on Facebook, he cooked up some great food at Yankees Stadium, and I found some video where Steve appeared on "The Juice" and shared his sauce! See the clip here!
‘Sopranos' star Steve Schirripa brought back home-style Italian dishes with a twist on ‘The Juice,' Veria Living TV Network's live, hour-long lifestyle audience talk show featuring celebrities, food, fitness, fashion, beauty.
Steve brought delicious Italian dishes featuring his new, gluten-free, organic pasta sauce—Uncle Steve's Italian Specialties! The sauce, which is available in stores and online, takes Schirripa's family recipe and gives it a healthy kick, making it the perfect option to serve to family, friends or the entire audience of ‘The Juice!'

Happy Birthday wishes are extended today to Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy)!!!!!
I was just hankering for something to eat, and after looking at this website, I definately got some hunger pains. Having already teasted the sauce, I know how good it is. Steve Schirripa (Bacala) , recently launched a line of tomato sauces, based on his childhood memories of his Mother spending all day, stirring the pot making the Sunday sauce. Uncle Steve’s sauces come in 3 varieties: Marinara, Tomato Basil and Arrabiata Sauce.
These sauce's are produced in small batches using the finest organic whole Italian plum tomatoes, real extra virgin olive oil, vegetables and spices. The simplicity of this sauce makes it a versatile base for many Italian dishes. Ingredients: Organic Imported Italian Whole Peeled Tomatoes, Organic Fresh Onions, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Fresh Garlic, Sea Salt, Organic Fresh Basil, Organic Black Pepper. USDA certified organic, Non-GMO, Gluten free, and No added sugar.
There are several places you can purchase these products, on line via the website, or at several retail locations such as Whole Foods being one of them. Check out this link, to find a place close to you! Also, on the bottom of several pages of Uncle Steve's website, make sure you sign up for updates and get on the mailing list!!!!!
Jamie Lynn Sigler (Meadow Soprano) recently made a PSA spotlighting the plight of undocumented immigrants entitled ‘Broken Tail Light' according to the NY Daily News. The link to the You Tube video is here.
Enjoy the summer!

Congratulations to Robert Funaro (Eugene Pontecorvo) in being cast in the upcoming film directed by Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger in a movie set in the 70's music scene, being a HBO production. I am looking forward to returning to doing a sighting on this project! Soprano's director Terrance Winter is also onboard!
Hard to believe, its been a year since the passing of James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano), Jamie-Lynn Sigler (Meadow Soprano) speaks about what it meant to her in the NY Daily News.

More updated news on Vincent Pastore's play "Wild Children"
When you thought it was good, it just gets better. Apparently some of the guys from the super group "The Rascals" performed on stage, Sunday afternoon, as part of the live music segment (live cutting edge music is part of the story line). And I've been picking up some tidbits, about some exciting things going on, in future shows. So, if you haven't called Smart Tix, and reserved your seat, time is running out and also the number of available seats is dwindling, so don't get left out in the cold (and snow), get your seats now!
I got word the the original members, of the group, "Street Kid" (yes the same band that performed at the original Crazy Horse bar, that Vincent owned in New Rochelle) will be playing at a special pre show on Sunday, December 22, 2013. This special performance, ticket sales will benefit The Felix Foundation, whose goal is to provide inspiring opportunities and experiences to enrich the lives of children in the foster care system. Help support this worthy cause, and attend the December 22 nd show. Check out Street Kids website and sample some of their music, its worth a visit!
Another fun thing that came out of the play is a movement making the December 15th, 3 pm show, a "Crazy Horse" alumni show. If you are still around, and were part of the escapades when Vinny had the club, get a ticket and join the fun!
If I hear anymore, I will update. The show closes on December 22, so treat yourself to an early holiday present!

Many of the movies James Gandolfini starred in are listed here.
They say that KARMA'S A B*TCH! and on May 2 last year, Osama bin Laden figured that out .....
The premiere episode on May 2 at 10 PM features three stories of brilliant retribution. First, a woman seeks revenge on her cheating husband by flaunting his infidelity and putting their house on the market with a sign that reads: "Husband Left Us for a 22 Year Old...House for Sale. Adulterers Need Not Apply." Then, when a woman recognizes herself as "the fat assed girlfriend" in her ex's novel, she gets even with a successful tell-all book of her own. The half hour closes out with a girlfriend who discovers her boyfriend is cheating on her with two other women - one of whom is his wife! The three of them gang up and lure the cheater to a hotel room with a frisky surprise - combining nail glue and his private parts. At 10:30 PM, KARMA comes back around with one story so epic, it deems its own half hour. Framed for crimes she didn't commit, karma begins to work in reverse when Seemona Sumasar is jailed after her ex-boyfriend sets her up. Behind bars for seven months and having lost everything, she is stymied until the culprit's new girlfriend turns informant and exposes his plot. Sumasar is now suing the authorities for failing to investigate the case properly.
Steve will be a guest on The Today Show on May 8, 2013.On May 14 and May 21, Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy) will be a guest star in the off broadway play "Italian Bred" at the St. Luke's Theater, located at 46th Sy. and 8th in New York City. Welcome to the New Year!
I have a very important event for next Friday night, January 15.
Soprano's Cast Members are joining forces in January to help support two of their own, Tony Lip “Carmine Lupertazzi, Sr” and Denise Borino-Quinn “Ginny Sack” at a star studded Soprano Family Night hosted by Vincent “Big Pussy” Pastore and featuring Friars Club Roastmaster Jeff Pirrami on January 15, 2010. The entire Soprano cast has been invited and there is an oath of omerta which prohibits me from saying who will be there. I personally am donating some really unusual memorabilia from my personal collection, which will be auctioned off that night.
When Vincent Pastore and Catch a Rising Star Club Owner Suzy Yengo heard of the needs of both cast members who are friends and associates of both, they decided they needed to rise to the occasion and put together a fundraiser to help defray the costs of healthcare and living expenses. Pastore said “I love Tony and Denise and I will do anything I can to help make this night a success for them. They've always been good to me”. Here's the scoop
December 14, 2009
