Soprano Sue's Sightings

I also found some unusual stuff when looking over some of the music in The Sopranos.

The songs that are hyperlinked in Blue show what album the song is original from and can also be purchased from Amazon.

  • Bobby Darin had one song that was featured twice  in The Sopranos. The song was "I'll remember April".
  • Frankie Valli had the song "I've got you under my skin" (Season 1, Episode 13), Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons had "Big Girls don't cry" (Season 2, Episode 5) and The Four Seasons had "Rag Doll" in Season 3, Episode 9. To make matters worse, they filmed a scene for season 5, in The Four Season's Restaurant in New York City.
  • Two Disco songs were in The Soprano's; The Hues Corporation's "Rock the Boat" (Season 2, Episode 11) and The Tramps "Disco Inferno" (Season 2, Episode 11).
  • The original "Catwoman" Eartha Kitt from Batman had a song on The Sopranos, "Santa Baby"
  • Britney Spears song "Oooops....I did it again" was on The Sopranos.
  • Two theme songs from other television series were featured on the show;   Mike Post's theme from the "Rockford Files" (Season 1, Episode 1) and the Theme from The Jefferson's "Moving on up" (Season 2, Episode 5)

The Sopranos had their share of some great classic rock, some examples

The Sopranos also had the Motown Sound

The Sopranos didn't just limit themselves to popular music. The show introduced an audience to some of the great classical masters.

  • Beethoven "Minuet" Season 1, Episode 1
  • Madredeus "Tardes de Bolonha" Seaon 1, Episode 1
  • Dio "Symphony #3, OP36" Season 1, Episode 2
  • Ruben Gonzalez "Melodia del Rio" Season 1, Episode 3
  • Al Di Meola "Milonga del Angel" Season 1, Episode 12
  • Andrea Bocelli "Con Te Partino" Season 2, Episode 1, Episode 4, Episode 10
  • Luciano Pavorotti "non Ti Scordar Di Me" Season 2, Episode 2
  • Madreblu "Certamente" Season 2, Episode 4
  • Lorenzo Jovanotti "Piove" Season 2, Episode 4
  • Gerald Garcia "Sonha De Magia" Season 2, Episode 7
  • Emma Shapplin "Vedi, Maria" Season 2, Episode 7
  • Starlite Orchestra "Mona Lisa" Season 2, Episode 9
  • Celicia Bartoli "Sposa Son Disprezzata" Season 3, Episode 12

Chaka Khan sang "All Good" in season 3, Episode 3 and in Season 2, Episode 3 she sang with Me'Shell NdegeOcello "Never miss the water".

Back to top of the heap!
