Soprano Sue's Sightings

The Sopranos have finally crossed the bridge and have come to the promised land of New Jersey to film.    On Tuesday, May 9, 2005, The Sopranos paid a visit to one of their favorite hang outs, The Bada Bing Club.    Gramps and I were there at 2 separate times, and a special thanks to him for sharing the excitement of this event.

The Bada Bing Club is a fictional top less gentlemen club on the show.   Here in New Jersey, such a club would be illegal.    You can not have nudity in an establishment where liquor is served. But then again there are a lot of things that go on at the Bing that would make it an illegal club, besides the nudity.  Here are some of the photos from that day.

This is part of the preparation that is done before filming even commences.   Jeff Marchetti, the set dresser is seen next to the camera cart.

Here is the camera cart again, notice the No Parking sign for the Bing, color scheme is different than we've seen from other seasons.   Don't worry, it's still a no parking zone

The filming that was going on, was primarily focused at the rear of the building.   The crew spent several hours setting up the lighting to achieve the look they were looking for.   Note the state's most famous dumpster on the left of the photo.   Tourists from all over the world, pose to have their picture with that dumpster.

James Gandolfini, who plays the character of Tony Soprano, walking behind the club.

Robert Funaro (Eugene Pontecorvo) and James Gandolfini.      These two have known each other for years, since the time they both performed in the play, "A Street Car Named Desire".

Frank Vincent (Phil Leotardo) getting wired before filming.    He's not getting wired because he is a rat, a hidden microphone is used to transmit his sound to the film.
