Soprano Sue's Sightings

The Sopranos are spotted filming a episode for Season 6 in Lyndhurst, New Jersey (aka some things are soo cool)

Preparation of lighting for a scene filmed at night

The Sopranos film crew is setting up a shot that will occur later in the day.   The scene they are planning is to be shot after dark.   They set up huge lighting equipment, in a night scene because if they didn't, you wouldn't see anything at all in the background, The cameras would just show total blackness.

While The Sopranos lighting team is working on preparing the outdoor set for filming in the evening, they are also filming on a side street in the backyard/garage of a house.    I have always said they put up that big white screen to prevent the crowd from actually seeing what goes on, but it is a tool actually used to give consistency of lighting in the scene.

(Bobby Bacala) walking from the set.   The hat could mean he is now working on the railroad.   I had rumors in the crowd that Aida Turturro (Janice Soprano) is/was on set, but I didn't see her.

Steve Schirripa, giving me the "I've been working on the railroad" look, and its been a long, long day.

The photo, of two bicycles, I am sure will bring back fond memories to my dear friend John, from Kearny.    The crew uses these bikes to quickly get around the set, which can span several street blocks with the amount of equipment, The Sopranos film crew bring to any location.

Hey John, do you see any canals around?

Again, the lighting crew is working on the preparation of the location for night filming.   The guy with the "victory" hand signals (he did use both fingers) is standing on a fourth story roof, in front of a satellite dish.    They use a scissor lift, to bring the equipment and the crew up to a adjoining building.

A special thanks to Capo Sooks on this photo.   The Sopranos converted a neighborhood restaurant into "Nuovo Vesuvio Ristorante".   The Sopranos have used several different locations as Vesuvio's, the fact that this one is "Nuovo" which translates to "new" in Italian, makes me wonder, did Artie Bucco suffer another fire, did he open another establishment, or has the restaurant always have the name "Nuovo Vesuvio", and I just assumed it's official name was "Vesuvio's".

Thank you Capo Sooks for sharing!
